Frequently Asked Questions

Here we have answered the most common questions. If you could not find an answer to your question, you can always ask us in the chat on the website, support, or by email.

How long to wait for activation of paid VPS/VDS?

Activation is automatic! VPS/VDS deployment usually takes just a few minutes with standard tariff configuration.

With non-standard tariff configuration in very rare cases, deployment may take up to several hours.

You will receive information about server readiness to your email.

What are the VPS/VDS service limitations on speed/bandwidth?

We do not limit VPS/VDS by speed or bandwidth unless there is systematic abuse or excessive load that affects other customers.

As a rule, you won't encounter this issue if servers are not used for streaming, file sharing, and other resource-intensive tasks.

In case of excessive load that is not critical and does not affect other customers — we simply inform by email. Within 24 hours, it is necessary to reduce the load or switch to a more suitable tariff. If there is no response, a limit will be introduced, and the user will receive a notification.

If the situation is critical and the load affects other customers — the user receives a notification about immediately taken measures to limit the channel.

ATTENTION! Be sure to read the rules and terms of VPS/VDS use.

What is the difference between VPS/VDS and shared hosting and dedicated server?

VPS (Virtual Private Server) or VDS (Virtual Dedicated Server) — is a part of the physical server resources that functions as a full-fledged separate server. On VPS/VDS, you install and configure the operating system and necessary software yourself.

Advantages of VPS/VDS compared to shared hosting:

  • Flexible configuration, ability to reinstall OS and software
  • Root access
  • Independence from other users due to dedicated resources
  • Ability to increase resources (CPU, RAM, disk)
  • No restrictions on traffic and number of sites/databases
  • Own IP address
  • Minuses: higher cost, need for self-configuration

Advantages of VPS/VDS compared to dedicated server:

  • Lower cost
  • Fast migration between VPS
  • Free backup (within our services)
  • Minuses: possible performance limitations under high loads, shared disk subsystem and communication channel

Shared hosting — is hosting a site without access to system settings. You don't know what resources are allocated and how they are distributed among other users. Suitable for small sites. Over time, most users switch to VPS/VDS or dedicated servers.

Dedicated server — is a physical server at your complete disposal. Maximum independence and performance. Suitable for large projects with high requirements.

What is VPS/VDS?

VPS (or VDS, or virtual server) — is a certain part of the physical server resources, essentially — a separate virtual computer. In terms of capabilities, settings, and perception, it is similar to a dedicated server (Dedicated server), but is located in the country you need and connected to the internet.

Like a regular home computer or dedicated server, VPS/VDS has:

  • a certain amount of RAM,
  • processor with frequency and number of cores,
  • a certain disk size for data storage (HDD or SSD).

The power and resources of your VPS/VDS depend on the chosen tariff.

Is it possible to change the tariff plan or amount of resources for VPS/VDS?

Yes, such possibility exists. You can switch to a higher or lower tariff, as well as increase individual resources of your VPS/VDS — RAM, disk, or processor.

Important:

  • For tariff upgrade (increase), only one VPS/VDS reboot is required.
  • For tariff downgrade (decrease) or resources — the server will be temporarily disconnected during the work.
  • You cannot reduce resources below the minimum tariff or increase them above the maximum — in such case, only switching to another tariff is possible.
  • The difference in cost when switching to a cheaper tariff during the paid period is not compensated. It is recommended to change the tariff upon completion of the current period.
  • Before downgrading the tariff, make sure that the used disk space is less than what will be available after the changes.

Is it possible to transfer VPS/VDS to another location?

Transfer of existing VPS/VDS with data to another location is possible.

IMPORTANT! Data transfer between locations is a paid service. The amount is clarified when contacting support.

When ordering VPS/VDS, choose a location that suits you in all parameters at once.

Can I add or change the control panel on VPS/VDS?

Yes, you can install or replace the control panel after OS installation, but this will require reinstalling the operating system, which will lead to deletion of all data.

Consider this when choosing a panel — it's better to decide on it in advance when ordering the server.

Is it possible to transfer a site/project from another hosting to your VPS/VDS?

Yes, transfer is possible. Our specialists can perform it for you.

The cost of initial VPS/VDS setup and site transfer is $35/hour.

You can also perform setup and transfer yourself.

Is there a trial period for VPS/VDS?

Yes, a trial period can be obtained after passing KYC verification. This is necessary to ensure that you do not plan to use resources exclusively for personal purposes without payment.

Details about obtaining a trial period can be viewed here.

Do you have your own DNS servers?

We do not provide DNS services for a number of reasons.

We recommend creating records yourself or using cloud DNS services such as Cloudflare.

How long does DNS change take?

DNS change usually takes about one hour.

The average period indicated by registrars is up to 24 hours. In rare cases — up to 48 hours.

Is it allowed to install unlicensed software on VPS/VDS?

This depends on the purpose of use and server location.

Remember that all responsibility for actions and content on the server lies with you.

Details about permitted and prohibited actions — in the terms of use.

How to understand ISPmanager (Your license)?

This option is for those who already have their own ISPmanager license — for example, if you previously used another hosting.

If you don't have a license, you can purchase it from us additionally.

Is there pre-installed software on VPS/VDS?

Only the operating system you chose when ordering is installed on VPS/VDS.

For convenient administration, we recommend ordering a control panel, especially for Linux servers — it provides a graphical interface instead of working through the console. Together with the panel, as a rule, the LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) is installed.

Keep in mind that OS and control panels have server resource requirements and consume part of the available power.

What is backup for VPS/VDS?

We provide free backup for VPS/VDS with disk volume up to 100GB.

For reliability and security, full server copying is performed with storage in a separate data center (not on the same server).

Backup protects against:

  • RAID controller or disk failure,
  • file system failures,
  • equipment seizure by law enforcement,
  • accidental data deletion,
  • actions of dismissed employees,
  • server hacking by attackers.

Important: if the VPS/VDS disk exceeds 100GB — free backup is not provided.

How often is backup performed?

Free backup of virtual servers is performed once a week.

A paid option with daily backup is also available.

How long are backups stored?

With free backup, 4 weekly copies are saved.

When using the paid daily backup option — copies for the last 30 days.

How to restore a deleted VPS/VDS?

To restore a deleted VPS/VDS:

  1. Create a ticket to clarify the availability of a backup.
  2. Create and pay for a new similar server.
  3. Top up your balance with at least $18 — this is the cost of restoration from backup.

ATTENTION! After non-payment, the server is disconnected after 72 hours, and completely deleted after 30 days or earlier if resources need to be freed. After deletion, restoration is possible only for a fee. Backups in such case are stored for up to 1 month.
